Residents have been very pleased with the netting - some of the balconies were very dirty and never used because of the nuisance of the pigeons.

Project Highlights

We’ve been doing the balcony netting at 80 Cumberland St. in Yorkville, Toronto for over six years. There are several types of balcony structures at this building and all of them are two floor apartments with the upper, Juliet-balcony recessed, leaving an 18 feet high ceiling, which poses several challenges.

It is not possible to set up a safe ladder configuration here and instead of putting our life at risk and the pedestrians’ below, we simply install the netting from the next balcony above. Still, these balconies are a hell of a job and therefore bear an extra cost, but the results well worth it – resident have been very pleased with the netting, some of the balconies were very dirty and never used because of the nuisance of the pigeons.

The pigeon habitat in Yorkville, especially at this corner is very heavy and the problem forces many apartment owners out of their balconies.

The finished balcony netting actually looks very pleasing to the eye and very hard to notice from the ground.
