Project Highlights

These roof top cooling tower enclosures provide the most ideal structure for pigeons to establish their nesting and roosting habitat. These units are usually well protected from the sides and the heat generated around them provides the perfect nesting conditions for pigeons throughout the year.

On these buildings, the units were housed in a concrete, open-top and open-bottom enclosure, which allows for the proper mounting of the bird netting hardware. All openings on the top and along the bottom were closed off using 2” bird netting.

We also installed custom fabricated entry doors, which are critical for easy maintenance access: workers don’t have to use zippers and squeeze through small openings in the netting and risk damaging it. The use of a proper door through any netting installation is highly recommended to avoid damaging the netting.

Along the bottom there were many structural features that were addressed individually using bird netting. Sometimes this can be very meticulous, but it is necessary to ensure that pigeons will not be able to find any entry points, otherwise the work can be compromised.
