Project Highlights

About a year after Pigeon Busters installed balcony netting on the entire building, we were called back to address a sparrow problem at the very busy, rear entrance of the building.

The building owners tried using a variety of bird spikes, but to no avail – unfortunately bird spikes are only effective for pigeons and larger birds. Sparrows can easily build their nests in spikes, because they are much smaller than pigeons.

The only solution was to install 3/4” square netting – made for sparrows/smaller birds, so they can’t go through the netting – installed above the entrance area. The odd shape of the area was further complicated by pipes running in all directions, these needed to be avoided and provided access to at some locations, in case of maintenance.

Our approach was a method we used before many times. Custom fabricated support poles that could be mounted to the ceiling to facilitate the netting installation in a position that cleared the pipes and followed existing geometry to achieve a clean, professional look.
